FAQ
Yes! Most agents will need both coaching and consulting while on the path to their goals. We first need an understanding of you and your business. What’s worked? What hasn’t? What’s keeping you from getting to that next level? Understanding that and creating a plan is the consulting component of our work. Then we can begin to coach you through the process of reaching your desired outcome. Consulting and coaching will tend to weave together throughout your journey. So yes, we are Coaches. And yes, we are Consultants.
Our coaches are all experienced and active commercial brokers and are running their own businesses, teams and deals. This gives them the unique ability to truly understand the tasks, negotiations, analysis, deal structures and struggles of the Commercial Real Estate world. In addition to helping you create a path to and achieve your goals, when necessary our coaches can help you transactionally as well. All of our coaches each have between 10 and 40 years as full-time commercial brokers and a passion for helping others.
We believe that everyone can benefit from a coach, whether it’s for accountability, growth, systems, team building or leverage. Our Elite and Basic Plans are for agents and teams ready to get to work with individual, customized coaching sessions. We do offer Group Plans with weekly calls, group accountability and peer interaction. (We carefully match agents with similar needs and production in our Coaching Groups).
Glad you asked! You can either submit your info through our contact form or drop us an email at HighRidgeCoaching@gmail.com. We’ll reach out to you about an intake call. We’ll get to know a bit about you and your business so we can make a recommendation to one of our coaches. You’ll also be able to get answers to any questions you have about HighRidge Coaching. The next step is a full intake call with a coach that has expertise in your specialty and has been carefully selected by the HighRidge Leadership Team.
We definitely want your input in selecting a coach. After your initial call with us, we’ll usually recommend one or two of our coaches that we think will be a good fit based on your specialty, production, challenges and personality. You’ll have an opportunity to speak with the coach or coaches we recommend prior to completing your enrollment. Of course, if there is a specific member of our Coaching Staff you’ve already decided would be a good fit, we’ll try to accommodate you.
Our number 1 goal is to help you achieve your goals. For some it’s a GCI goal; for others it’s leveraging themselves so they can spend more time with the people and activities they enjoy. Whether you’re new to the business, an experienced independent agent, ready for your first hire, growing your team or looking at exit strategies, we’ll carefully assess your needs and together create a path forward. Through planning, action and accountability, your goals are achievable. The most important component of a coaching relationship is how accountable you are to the goals you set. If you go all in with your Coach, your results will absolutely show up as increased GCI.
Our initial contract term is 6-months after which you’ll continue on a monthly basis with the ability to cancel with 60-days written notice.
Sure. As we work together, or if your needs change, you are welcome to move to a more or less frequent plan. The exception to this is Group Coaching. If leaving your group during your first 6-month contract term will leave only one other agent in the group, we’ll require you to complete the term or stay in the group until we find a replacement for your spot. We can always customize a group plan to include individual sessions at an additional cost.
We’ll do what’s best for you. Some teams choose to have joint sessions while others have chosen to alternate individual coaching calls. We can accommodate a combination of team and individual calls. Additional calls can be added to any of our plans.
Yes. We’ll custom tailor a program for you based on your experience, circumstances and goals. For a more in-depth mentoring program designed for newer agents, please contact us at HighRidgeCoaching.gmail.com
Absolutely! Without a map you can’t get there, right? During your first “deep dive” call, your coach will either discuss your current business plan and/or walk you through the process of creating one specific to your needs and vision.
Absolutely. Our coaches are all willing to do either. Keep in mind that there may be times that location or access to the internet may preclude a video call. Otherwise, Zoom is currently the platform we prefer
Some of our clients wish to have their sessions recorded for later review. Our coaches are generally willing to record calls (audio or video) but we ask that our clients take responsibility for any recordings. There are many apps that will record a phone call and most video chat platforms include a record function.
We know that things will come up in your business that you may want to discuss with your coach outside of your next session. Sending a text or email is always fine, but because your coach is also running his/her own business, we ask that you give them a day or two to respond. If you require a phone call outside of your regularly scheduled session, depending on the time spent, your next coaching session may be shortened. Reaching out to your coach by text or email is fine but please allow a day or two for a response.
We form our groups based on agent experience, production, goals and specialties. Groups are limited to 4 agents and need at least 2 agents to remain open.
We know life happens. As a courtesy, we ask that you give your coach at least 48 hours if you have to reschedule a session. We ask that you block your coaching day/time on your calendar and schedule tours or appointments at times that do not interfere with your sessions.
We’ll stay focused on your business path and goals. If time allows and you are looking for additional ideas/concepts, our coaches are prepared to discuss one of our many inspirational topics with you.
Coaching is different from teaching. Our coaching programs are not designed to train new agents or to teach you the inner workings of a new asset class. We do offer training, education and mentoring separately from our coaching platform and we support our affiliate partner Nucleus for comprehensive new agent training programs.
All of our coaches have at least one specialty area in which they excel at a very high level, however all do a certain amount of general practice and can be valuable in your corner if you don’t stick to only one asset class. We’ll match you with a coach that can be helpful to your overall business.
We’ve all become used to video chatting these days and we spend our days as agents on the phone, so no. Our coaches are from all over the U.S. and while they may not know the intersection of 1st and Main in your town, they know your business, negotiations, analysis, deal structure, systems and processes that will help take your business to the next level. There can actually be a benefit from working with a coach from a different region, as tactics and trends vary. With a coach outside your market area, you will have unique access to trends and strategies from other regions throughout the country to support your business.
Yes. Flexible to fit you and your coaches schedule. We do ask that your time be set and consistent each week so that you and your coach always know when you’ll be meeting. Of course things will come up that cause the occasional change and we expect you’ll work together to reschedule.
From a strategy standpoint, yes. However, since all states and brokerages follow their own local laws and compliance procedures, our coaches can’t provide legal or compliance advice. And since there is no National Library of forms for commercial real estate, we may not be familiar with your specific contracts.
Yes. All of our coaches are experienced brokers with significant portfolios of production. Keep in mind that laws and compliance vary from state to state and your coach may not be familiar with your laws and individual brokerage guidelines. Our coaches will be able to give input, ideas and troubleshoot issues with you around these topics. Coaching is different from our hands on Mentoring Program. Please contact us if you are interested in a mentor.
After becoming a member of our program, your first call will be a business planning and strategy overview session. This is where you’ll set a plan with your coach to meet your goals and your coach will discuss the general format of future sessions. It takes some time to really get to know each other, and we want to be sure you and your coach are a good fit. We also encourage an open honest dialogue with your coach about what’s working and any issues you’re having with the coaching process. If it’s really not a good match or we cannot help resolve your concerns, we’ll connect you with another coach.
Currently we offer our coaching services in English and Spanish.
We accept MasterCard and Visa debit or credit cards, Paypal, Venmo and Zelle if your bank allows.
